Product 05 / Automated NAV Reports

NAV reports in one click.Locked at the database.

Pick a closed period and Syncrone builds the report from your book: NAV, PnL, allocation and positions, copied into a record of their own. Choose what LPs see, add your logo, lock it and share it as a link. Once it is locked, the database itself rejects any change.

§ 02 · Capabilities

Everything between a closed periodand the report LPs read.

  1. 01

Built from the book, in one click

Pick a month, a quarter, a year or your own dates once the period has ended. Syncrone copies NAV, holdings, positions and metrics for that window into the report and computes its figures. Nothing is pasted from a spreadsheet.

    • Month · Quarter · Year · Custom
    • Any closed period
  2. 02

A frozen copy of the period

A report reads its own copy of the data, not the live book, so it says the same thing next quarter as on the day it went out. Corrections made to the period before the lock are carried into it.

    • Its own copy of the data
    • Period corrections included
  3. 03

    Locked at the database

Lock a report and its data, its corrections and its shared page become read-only. Database triggers reject any insert, update or delete, whatever sends it, not only the buttons in the app. Correcting a locked report means unlocking it first, on purpose.

    • Enforced by database triggers
    • Unlock required to correct
  4. 04

    You choose what LPs see

Pick the sections and chart tabs, the metrics in the KPI strip and the columns of the holdings and positions tables. Leave whole chains out of a report when they don't belong in it.

    • 9 sections and chart tabs
    • 8 KPI metrics · 35 table columns
  5. 05

    Your name on it

Add your fund or manager logo, your firm's name and the headline LPs see. The link carries your organization's name and a slug you choose.

    • Fund or manager logo
    • Your own link, like /q3-2026
  6. 06

An interactive report, on your terms

LPs open NAV, PnL, allocation and positions in the browser, with a slider to move through the period. Protect the link with a password and set it to expire.

    • Open link or password
    • Expires in 7 days, 30 days or on a date
§ 03 · The lock

Locked means locked. Not just greyed out.

Hiding an edit button protects nothing. When a report is locked, the tables behind it refuse changes at the database, so no screen, script or API call can alter what your LPs were sent.

ERROR: report q3-2026 is locked; UPDATE on report_metrics is not allowed
HINT: Unlock the report (finalized → generated) first.
sql>

The lock is enforced by database triggers, not just the interface. A Q3 report reads the same in Q4 unless someone deliberately unlocks and reissues it.

What a lock freezes
  • The period's dataHoldings, positions and assets, copied into the report when it was built
  • Its figuresDaily metrics and the period's NAV, PnL and returns
  • Its correctionsEvery override applied to the period before the lock
  • Its shared pageWhat LPs see, its settings and its link

Insert, update, delete: each is rejected while the report is locked, whatever sends it. To correct a locked report, unlock it first.

§ 05 · Who uses it

Read by the peoplewho sign off on it.

§ 06 · In practice

How it worksin practice.

Is the report generated automatically?

Yes, from the book. Choose a closed period and Syncrone builds the report: it copies NAV, holdings, positions and metrics for that window and computes the period's figures. You review it, choose what LPs see, then lock and share it.

What exactly does locking protect?

The report's data, the corrections applied to its period and its shared page. While it is locked, the database rejects any change to them, from any source. To correct a locked report, unlock it, fix it and lock it again.

Do LPs need an account?

No. They open a link in the browser. You can protect it with a password and set it to expire after 7 days, 30 days or on a date you choose.

Can we put our own brand on it?

Yes: your fund or manager logo, your firm's name, the report's headline and its link. The page notes that the report was produced with Syncrone.

Is a locked report an audit opinion?

No. It is a fixed record of the period that an auditor can test against the chain. The opinion remains your auditor's.
