Product 02 / Performance & Attribution

Returns computed,not estimated.

Syncrone holds every transaction since inception, so nothing is approximated. Realized and unrealized PnL, ROI, TWR and XIRR come from what actually happened, entry by entry, for any period and at every level: position, protocol, wallet and fund.

What made the month. And what cost it.

Every period breaks down the same way: realized against unrealized, yield against price, and the positions that moved it most, up or down. Switch from the month to since inception and every number follows.

§ 02 · Capabilities

Every figure fromthe transaction that made it.

  1. 01

    Realized and unrealized, exactly

Every buy, sell, deposit, withdrawal and claim since inception sits in the ledger with its cost. Realized PnL is booked when a position is reduced, unrealized PnL is what is still open. Neither is inferred from two balance snapshots.

    • Cost basis per entry
    • Rewards counted as they accrue
  2. 02

    Returns that hold up

TWR shows the manager's return without the noise of subscriptions and redemptions. XIRR shows what an investor's money actually earned. Sharpe, Sortino, Calmar, volatility and maximum drawdown put each return against the risk taken to earn it, all from the same transactions.

    • Sharpe · Sortino · Calmar · drawdown
  3. 03

For a period, or since inception

Every figure exists twice: over the window you pick and since the position was opened. A month's PnL and the lifetime PnL of the same position sit side by side.

  4. 04

    Yield, apart from price

Yield PnL is what the protocols paid: interest, fees, staking rewards and incentives. Price effect is what the market did to what you held. The two always add up to total PnL.

§ 06 · In practice

How it worksin practice.

Where do the numbers come from?

From transactions, not balances. Syncrone replays every wallet from its first transaction, keeps the cost of each entry and prices it at the block, so PnL and every return are computed rather than estimated from snapshots.

Which return should we show LPs?

TWR for the manager's performance, because it removes the effect of when investors came in and out. XIRR for what an investor's capital actually earned. Syncrone computes both from the same transactions.

Can we use our own benchmark?

Yes. BTC, ETH and SOL are built in, and you can add any other: an asset, an index, or an on-chain lending rate over the same dates.

Can we add metrics of our own?

Yes. If your fund reports a metric Syncrone doesn't compute yet, we add it to your book. You can also compose your own from the figures already computed, such as NAV, flows, realized and unrealized PnL, yield and price effect, and follow them like any other metric.

Can Yield PnL and realized PnL be added together?

No. They are two splits of the same total: realized plus unrealized equals total PnL, and so does yield plus price effect. Adding across the two splits counts the same dollars twice.
